We had this years halloween quiz night at the Windmill last Thursday night and out of 20 teams at the quiz only 5 actually came in fancy dress.
Here are some photo’s of the one’s who made the effort, the photo quality isn’t great but if anyone who was at the quiz has better photo’s i’ll gladly post them.

Our most recent big cash winners came from our glasgow pub quiz held in the Windmill Tavern, which is in Tannochside about 10-15mins drive from Glasgow city centre.
The team who are called The Windmill Loyal, had the winning raffle ticket and proceeded to answer the 5 quiz accumulator questions correctly to secure a cool £100 payday. Here is a picture of them moments after winning the cash:
£100 Cash Won!
This was the only photo of the 4 that were taken that had the majority of the quiz team looking at the camera!
The quiz accumulator money is at time of writing back up to £100 in the Windmill Tavern so if you enjoy a fun quiz night and wouln’t mind the chance of walking away £100 better off then come along to the Windmill Tavern for the quiz on Thursday night. The quiz starts at 9:30pm however it is recommended that you come along earlier in order to secure a seat.
Other things that are happening in the Crowded Pubs world include a brand new quiz night which will be starting on the 30th of July at 8:00pm and will be held in the Renfield Bar on Renfield Street. Also our quiz in Failte on St Vincent Street on a Monday night at 7:00pm has (at the time of writing) £128 in the cash prize accumulator so there is some more opportunities for enjoyable quiz nights and the chance of a bit of cash!
The quiz nights that we at Crowded Pubs host are intended to be fun, entertaining and challenging. However, it is also possible to win some great prizes at our quiz nights.
Our two biggest winners so far have come from two different pub quizzes that we host in the Glasgow area. The first of our big winners came along to our quiz night in The Windmill Tavern in Uddingston. After coming last in the actual quiz the team shown below managed to correctly answer 5 quiz questions to win £100 cash in the Weekly Cash Accumulator. Here they are moments after winning:
£100 Cash Won!
The second big Crowded Pubs winners came along to the Glasgow Quiz Night in Failte on St. Vincent Street on a Monday night and finally won the biggest rollover we have seen so far….
Here they are after picking up a cool £250 Cash:
£250 Cash Won!
The Weekly Cash Accumulator prizes have both reached £100 for these two glasgow quiz nights so come along and see if you and your team can become the next big winners.
Failte’s is at 79 St. Vincent Street, G2 5TF, the quiz is on a Monday night and starts at 7:00pm so make sure you are in before the start.
The Windmill Tavern is at 4 Thorniewood Road, Tannochside, Uddingston G71 5QQ, the quiz is on a Thursday night and starts at 9:30pm however, people have started coming in earlier for a meal in order to keep a seat for the quiz so you will need to be there in plenty of time before the quiz to secure a seat.
Also keep your eyes on this blog page as I will be making some changes in the near future and there will be prizes involved for those who take part. That’s all I’ll say on that matter just now but keep checking back or come along to our quiz nights to keep up to date.
Another glasgow pub quiz will be starting courtesy of us here at Crowded Pubs and our friends at Oran Mor at the Top of Byres Road. The Oran Mor quiz night will be on Monday nights starting at 9.30pm. The first quiz night will be on Monday 9th of February and will be presented by Crowded Pubs veteran Quiz Master Alan Gourley.
Oran Mor is the perfect venue for an amazing glasgow pub quiz, it is right in the heart of “student land” in the West End and also attracts lots of professionals and intellectuals. Therefore, we at Crowded Pubs are looking to make the quiz night in Oran Mor a fairly intelluctual quiz and we are looking to attract the best glasgow quiz teams. If you are part of a quiz team in Glasgow and are looking for a challenging quiz then come along to the Oran Mor quiz night and pit your wits against some of the best quiz teams Glasgow has to offer.
Crowded Pubs is starting another glasgow pub quiz in Bar Bacchus, 80 Glassford Street, G1 1UR. The quiz will be on Sundays and will start at 7.00pm til 9.00pm. There is a cash prize for the winners of the quiz and also there will be a weekly accumulator cash prize.
The start of a new pub quiz night is always fairly exciting as you get to see how the quiz night goes from the very first night and then have the satisfaction of watching it grow over the following weeks and months. It is important when starting a glasgow pub quiz that it is advertised well and that people know about it, especially for the first night as you don’t have the benefit of “word of mouth” that you can get after the first night. So that is why I have been busy getting posters organised and posting the details of the quiz on various websites which promote nights out in Glasgow. Another benefit of this for the venue itself is that they get lots of free advertising without any effort on their behalf.
Finally I have managed to get my computer to work and allow me to upload the video of one of the Crowded Pubs Quiz Nights. So now you can get a feel of what a glasgow pub quiz by Crowded Pubs is like. As you can see from the video the place is packed and this is how we like our quiz nights, although the camera did nearly take a tumble a couple of times though which wouldn’t have been great. You can watch the video below:

Here at Crowded Pubs we pride ourselves on running fun and entertaining pub quiz nights in the Glasgow area. We strive to bring more punters into a pub than would normally be there and get the ones who are there entertained with a challenging yet relatively light hearted quiz.
We suit our glasgow quiz nights to the punters who frequent them by carefully choosing questions from our ever expanding database of quiz questions, with mixtures of questions to suit older and younger audiences and tough questions to easier ones where the answer is just on the tip of your tongue.
One of the pubs that we currently run a quiz night in has virtually doubled their takings from before there was a pub quiz til now that we have a fully established pub quiz. Before the pub quiz started the pub was lucky to take more than £1500 on that night, with £1200 being the average. After we started running the quiz the pub is now consistently taking an average of £2400 with some nights exceeding the £3000 mark. And as you can imagine the manager is thrilled with that and the punters are apparantly pretty happy as well as they keep coming back.
Currently we are looking to get quiz nights started in more glasgow pubs and help not only the pubs themselves take in more money but provide an enjoyable night for the punters as well, afterall it is the punters that make any pub quiz.
So whether you run a pub yourself, work in one or are a regular in one that you feel could benefit from a boost in takings and happy punters then contact us at Crowdedpubs as we would love to help you to make your pub crowded.
Last Monday we had our 2nd glasgow pub quiz night in Failte, St Vincent Street. This week we only had eight teams taking part, which was two down from last week but as it is just the beginning stages of the Failte Quiz on a Monday then I’m not too worried. The pub is still busier than it had been on Mondays before the quiz night so that is fine.
That said I still fully intend to build the quiz night further so I am currently looking to get some flyers printed as the bar staff at Failte said they would hand them out in all of the student places round about. So hopefully we will start to attract a few student quiz teams.
As far as the actual quiz went, once again it was a very close quiz. We had 3 teams tied right up to the last round. The eventual winners of the quiz included the man that had came up to me after the first quiz night and told me that I’d made his night. So they were even more chuffed this week after winning the quiz.
Over the past week I have managed to obtain about six hundred more songs that I can play during the different quizzes that I do, which is fantastic as I was rapidly running out of fresh songs that I could play in between rounds or even use in the music round itself. That should keep us going for a while.
